You may wonder what triggered me to launch this website. Well it’s the result of my life experiences, research and work in the field but for the exact trigger point, we need to go back to January ’16.
In January ’16 I launched a course on hearinghacks.com (my community site): the Hearing Hacks Starter’s Guide. You can find it here: http://hearinghacks.com/hearing-hacks-starter-guide/.
Thanks to it, my students shared their hearing loss with somebody new, someone even shared with their immediate family for the first time!
This course gave me proof that I could make a difference in people’s lives by teaching them how to cope with hearing loss. It was the motivation I needed to quit my job and teach full-time.
In the past four months, I’ve interviewed dozens of people: audiologists, hearing aid users, lipreading teachers, charity volunteers and more. I even attended a hearing rehabilitation conference in Vancouver, Canada, a 40-hour round trip!
All these efforts culminated in a new website: Superhuman Hearing.
It’s a place where I teach how to live an exceptional life, even with hearing loss. A place where I teach what took me decades of self-experimentation and research to learn.
